About VeriVacation

What is VeriVacation?

VeriVacation is a search tool, powered by the American Society of Travel Advisors, that helps travelers connected with a Verified Travel Advisor. These travel advisors have taken an extra step in their professional development by prioritizing ethics and their fiduciary duty to their clients.

What is a Verified Travel Advisor?

A Verified Travel Advisor (VTA) is a trained and experienced travel advisor, vetted and verified by the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) - the global trade organization for travel planning professionals.  All VTAs are members of ASTA and have taken extra steps to enhance their professional development and knowledge in areas such as ethics, regulatory compliance, and customer relations. Not only that, but VTAs must take continuing education every two years to maintain their status. You may be surprised to learn that there’s no formal license to become a travel advisor. That’s why it’s so important to work with a Verified Travel Advisor. It’s the ‘Good Housekeeping’ seal of approval that signals you’re working with a top-notch professional.

Why should I use a Verified Travel Advisor?

These trusted professionals manage every aspect of a journey – whether leisure or business travel – from pre-trip planning to support during travel and follow-up upon return. Verified Travel Advisors (VTAs) are a lifeline, offering peace of mind in the event of an emergency or unexpected change in plans, and serve as strong advocates for their clients throughout the entire process.

As travel becomes more complex, demand for travel advisors (formerly known as travel agents) continues to grow. VTAs do more than book trips, they provide expert consultation to craft personalized itineraries that cater to unique client needs and preferences.

By 2026, travel agency sales will comprise 26% of the total travel market, with that share expected to reach $141.3 billion. (Source: Phocuswright in partnership with ASTA) The Bureau of Labor Statistics is predicting consistent year-over-year job growth in the travel agency sector.

More people are interested in travel advising and turning their passion for global travel into a lucrative business. We that for us! However, most people are unaware of the fact that there’s no centralized licensing or educational standard for becoming a travel advisor. Simply put, anyone can do it. That’s where we come in! The American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) has been educating professional travel advisors for almost a century, and that’s why we consider ourselves the standard-bearer.  VTAs are vetted and credentialed by the American Society of Travel Advisors.

What is the American Society of Travel Advisors?

Founded in 1931, the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) is the leading global advocate for travel advisors and agencies, the travel industry and the traveling public. ASTA’s diverse membership includes travel advisors as well as the companies whose products they sell, including airlines, hotels, cruise lines, tour operators, and car rental companies. Among ASTA’s members are the country’s largest corporate travel management companies (TMCs), responsible for moving workforces and facilitating global commerce.

What are the benefits of using a Verified Travel Advisor?

VTA is a designation that represents a high-level of professional standards, a commitment to ethics and trust.  To qualify for this certification, travel advisors must possess a minimum of two years of experience and demonstrate verified sales volume. Not only that, but VTAs must take continuing education courses to maintain their VTA status.

Our traveler support team is available to process any complaints that you may have with a member of the American Society of Travel Advisors or one of our Verified Travel Advisors. This extra layer of protection gives you peace of mind knowing that, if for any reason something goes wrong, you have a dispute-resolution option that ASTA mediates.
